Frequently Asked
Questions
What if I am in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency?
Dr. Major is not able to provide emergency services. If you are in crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
You may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for immediate, confidential support 24/7.
Does Dr. Major take insurance?
At this time, Dr. Major does not accept insurance. If you would like to self-submit an out-of-network insurance claim, a superbill is available upon request. Please note that out-of-network coverage is not guaranteed. It is strongly recommended that you contact your insurance provider in advance of your first appointment to inquire about your out-of-network benefits.
Many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits. I suggest calling your insurance company (find the number on the back of your insurance card) and asking the following questions in order to understand your out-of-network benefits:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits to see a licensed psychologist?
- If so, what percentage of the session fee do you cover?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
- Does my current policy cover psychological testing, and if so, under what conditions?
- How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
- Is telehealth covered?
Can I pay with my flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA)?
In general, psychological services are considered to be an FSA and HSA eligible expense. As such, FSA and HSA benefits are generally accepted forms of payment. However, eligible expenses do vary among FSA and HSA plans. Therefore, it is recommended that you contact your FSA or HSA carrier directly to verify eligibility.

What happens if I need to cancel?
Psychological services are a commitment of valuable time and energy on the part of both the client and the psychologist. As such, full payment is required for all appointments cancelled within 24 hours or less of the scheduled appointment time. Likewise, all no-showed appointments will be charged in full.
